Rwanda and Afrika Cannot Accept To Be A Trash Can For The Western clothing trash.

Second hand clothes

Following last year's decision from the Rwandan Government to ban second hand clothes imported from the West in a bid to support the growth of local Textile Industries, the U.S Government has suspended Rwanda from #AGOA duty-free benefits.

As Rwandans, we do believe that what the government is doing is totally right and we are all ready to face the consequences that may arise as result of this suspension.
If #AGOA agreement is based on the fact that African countries will continue be the pit where all the wastes from the West are dumped, then there is no reason why they can't continue to call us "Shithole" countries.

Uganda and Tanzania were also initially part of this ban but later removed it in fear of the pressure from West.

We stand with our Government to continue banning all of those wastes that are harming our economy and environment  even if the U.S. decides to terminate the #AGOA agreement instead of suspension. Rwanda can do better with the newly formed Afrikan Continental Free Trade Area  which does't impose restrictions and limitations on what we can do and what we cannot. #Saynotosecondhandclothes #RwandaAfrica❤
