Another fire has gutted the Gwarzo Market in the Gwarzo Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State, destroying goods and property worth millions of naira.
The fire razed the entire furniture section of the market owned by mostly Igbo traders, before it was put out by local firefighters.
It was gathered that the fire had also spread to other shops within the vicinity of the furniture section of the market.
The director of the Kano State Fire Service, Mustapha Rulwan, confirmed the incident.
He said the fire started at around 1:45am and destroyed 30 shops in the furniture section of the market.
“We got the report of the incident at around 1:45am and our men in the Gwarzo office were able to quench the fire at around 3:21pm on Friday.”
