We already know all too well that President Obama and his administration refuse to say the words, “Islamist terrorism.”Now, the White House is refusing to allow others tosay it. Stunningly, it has gone so far as to censor akey portion of French President Francois Hollande’s statement about it, that he made during this week’s NuclearSecurity summit in Washington, D.C.ViaThe Daily Caller:The White House censored the video of French President FrancoisHollande daring to argue that “Islamist terrorism” isat the “roots of terrorism.”According toMRCTV, the White House pulled the original, unedited version from WhiteHouse.gov andYouTubeand thenreuploaded the video withthe words “Islamist terrorism” silenced.Moreover, theofficial transcript on WhiteHouse.gov at one pointdid not include Hollande’s claim that “Islamist terrorism, is in Syria and in Iraq. We therefore have to act both in Syria and in Iraq, and this is what we’re doing within the framework of the coalition.”However, as of Friday, April 1, the official transcript now includes Hollande’s claim.On Thursday, Hollande told Barack Obama, “We are also making sure that between Europe and the United States there can bea very high level coordination. But we’re also well aware that the roots of terrorism,Islamist terrorism, is in Syria and in Iraq. We therefore have to act both in Syria and in Iraq, and this is what we’re doing within the framework of the coalition. Andwe note that Daesh is losing ground thanks to the strikes we’ve been able to launch with the coalition. We are continuing to support Iraq. This is also a decision we have taken, supporting the Iraqi government and making sure that they can claim back their entire territory, including Mosul.”The bolded words are still currently censored from the White House’s YouTube video. Instead ofhearing Hollande’s interpreter translate the French presidents comments, the YouTube video’s audio cuts out andit is silent.You can see the video for yourself — skip to around 4:40 in the video to see the portion where the translations suddenly goes silent while Hollande refers to Islamist terrorism as the roots of terrorism.
You might expect dictators to censor content like this to suit their own agenda, but the president of the United States? Last I checked this was still the United States of America, a constitutional republic rather than a dictatorship. PresidentObama just continues to do his best, it seems — between his disregard for key aspects of our constitution and now this — to emulate a different form of government.Meanwhile, the likes of ISIS — as in theIslamicState, you know? — continue to gain ground, while the so-called leader of the (increasingly less) free world can’t even utter the words Islamic terrorism.[Note: This article was written by Michelle Jesse, Associate Editor]
