The same tactics was carried out in the recent Nigerian Police Force promotion to discredit the South East and South South from producing the IG of Police for the next 10 years.

In the promotion exercise, only one (1) Commissioner of Police who is from North Central was promoted to the rank of AIG, while 5 DCPs were promoted to CPs, which two are from North East, 2 from North West and one from South West.
