(Orsunews) The Assistant Inspector General of Police in-charge of Zone 9, Umuahia,  Hassan Karma, recently the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, has open up on his challenges while in Anambra State, says IPOB’s Biafra agitation was his toughest challenge.
In an interview, Karma spoke on Biafra agitation by the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), and general security situation in the zone while serving in Anambra State.
According to Karma, he said Anambra State used to be the headquarters of violent crimes like kidnapping, armed robbery, murder; to the extent that as blessed and popular as Anambra is with many prominent people who are captains of industries, industrialists, senior government functionaries, very high profile politicians.
The politics of Anambra is very delicate; there everybody is a big man and you don’t push people around anyhow. To survive there, you have to be very neutral; be yourself, if their monies are flying, look another direction. Once their money doesn’t entice you, you’ll survive there.

Among this, my toughest challenge was Biafra agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), it was another national issue.  As professionals and coordinated as IPOB, it was a big task handling them, from left you are not safe, from right you are not safe.
Balancing the problem of agitation was a tough task, but to the glory of God, it was managed and from the police perspective, we managed it excellently without having much blame even from the protesters. We were at the middle, he concluded.
